Daisy Lace Sun Bonnet

Last weekend was the annual Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. It's the biggest fiber event in our area, and did someone say free admission? What more could a broke stay-at-home mommy ask for?

Hiya, fella!
I love all the beautiful yarns that can be created from their fluff, but to tell you the truth, sheep kind of creep me out a bit (The Animator too, actually). Something about their horizontal pupils just seems a bit unnatural. I much prefer my own vertical slits. I'm glad I'm not a farm kitty.

In celebration of the Sheep & Wool Festival, The Animator's Wife decided to make wool hats for the whole family using the yarn she bought in Boston. And so you can join in the festivities, we're sharing the patterns with you!

For The Animator she made a dapper Cabled Fedora.

For herself, she made a Boho Broomstick Lace Hat, reminiscent of the cowgirl style.

And for Little Lovely, she made a lacy sun bonnet. (Never mind that knitted blanket she's sitting on. Her auntie made it for her and it's her favorite!)

You can purchase the Cabled Fedora and Boho Broomstick Lace Hat patterns in our Ravelry store, but Little Lovely's Daisy Lace Sun Bonnet pattern is free below. Enjoy!
