Little Lovely

The Animator's Wife gave birth to her Little Lovely on Sunday, August 14th at 7:15pm. She weighed 7 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 19.75 inches long.

She went through the delivery exactly as she wanted--naturally and unmedicated. Using the Bradley techniques of letting the contractions take over and ignoring them made all the difference. In fact, she was making cupcakes up until just a few hours before she went to the hospital. By the time she got to the hospital, she was already 7 centimeters dilated and she had the baby 2 hours later. Here is testimony that the Bradley Method does work and women CAN go through childbirth without an epidural!

Little Lovely did have some complications. She was born with the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck and had to spend a few hours in the NICU for observation. But she was able to go home with her new mom 2 days later and seems to be a happy, healthy baby now.

We apologize for the delay in making the announcement. Newborns are very time consuming!

  3. OK as a non-baby person I can't comment on the birth stuff BUT if you are happy FINE if you have your baby FINE. I cannot tell you how anxious I have been, I know how much this means to you, how much courage you have, and how totally rocked your world now is by this new arrival.

Heartfelt congratulations to you and to Nick, who must be the proudest Dad ever.

And look at those little toes! *chuckle*

I have a thing for babies' toes. My daughter thinks I'm crazy but I had a thing for her toes when she was a baby too.

    Now, not so much. *sigh*
